And just like that it is mid-autumn.

This time of year is just stunning, with the trees changing colour and crisper mornings alluding to winter just around the corner. For the conservation industry, this is an exciting time of year as we are finishing our site prep and starting to put plants in the ground.

Welcome to Autumn.

We can’t believe how quickly the days are getting shorter and are certainly enjoying that lovely crispness in the morning followed by some gorgeous days, but oh my goodness, have the wasps exploded in the last few weeks.

Mid-February already and what a month it has been! Drought, flooding and cyclones are just some of the challenges. The country doesn’t seem to be catching a break. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by these unprecedented events.

Mid-January already and some nice summer weather to usher in the new year.

We hope you all had some time to relax, eat good food, enjoy good company and some time to reflect and gather strength for the coming year.

It’s that time of year again when we are on the rapid slide to Christmas and it’s a good time to reflect and review 2022.

What an incredible month it has been. Dunedin shivering in snow last week and Nelson suffering a river of rain three weeks ago. It certainly makes for interesting, if somewhat challenging times.

As Matariki draws to a close, we hope you have all been able to take the time to reflect on the year that has been, and look ahead to the next 12 months.

We hope you are staying dry. If you are like us and in the middle of your planting season, I am sure you are a little over the rain. Here we were, worrying about a green drought and how dry the ground was when we started the planting season and now we are awash with mud.
